Online dating profiles and a blog that’s naughty and nice.

As an ad writer, I love ads. As an online dating profile writer, I love just about everything having to do with men and women. As an ad writer, online dating profile writer and blogger – I love to combine all my passions right here for you to enjoy too. To have a look at what I do, feel free to check out the online dating profile samples of my work and, of note for this post, check out my LinkedIn profile samples too.

I came across another article this week about Octomom’s foray into porn due to the debt she’s in – not to mention all those mouths to feed.

I can only hope the woman uses a condom during her sex scenes.

That bit of optimism aside, I’m sure she’ll do a bang up job.

Apparently, she and her children have also recorded a Christmas CD to make extra cash as well.  So, essentially, she has both naughty and nice covered…or not covered, depending on how you look at it – if you look.

Oh never mind…

Reading her story made me think about career choices – specifically the sexiest jobs (or positions, for that matter) around. Why the sexiest? Because, though admittedly tenuous, this is a dating blog.

Sexiest jobs for men

According to Ezinearticles.com, a poll of 100 women between the ages of 18 to 55 concluded that the sexiest male professionals are  firefighters, police officers, pilots, doctors and military men. The author of the article then surmises that nothing makes a woman feel safer than a sexy fireman climbing through a bedroom window. Oh sure, because there’s nothing hotter than an intruder. Geech.

A related article on Hubpages lists the top 5 sexiest male uniforms: firefighters, cops, pilots, doctors and cowboys…cowboys? Sooo more Brokeback less Three Kings? Interesting.

Sexiest jobs for women

In an article on “naked with socks on” some of the sexiest jobs listed come as no surprise, for instance – cheerleader and stripper. Cop is listed too. However, the picture next to the mention shows a cop in a short, tight little number with one zipper for what I’m guessing is easy removal.

I also found an article on sexy female soldiers. There’s actually one wearing a complete uniform, gas mask and helmet included, and the only skin showing is her hands. By “hands”, I mean the kind carrying a massive machine gun and not likely to be shooting blanks. Men are so easy to please!

The best ever monster.com ad

Monster.com has had some really creative TV spots. However, according to USA today.com, the “When I grow” campaign has been chosen by visitors as one of its top ten.  It’s also, justifiably, won a lot of industry awards.

What makes this one so good is that it’s both simple and surprising. It takes an entirely different approach to what’s traditionally created in this category. Usually, commercials about careers are pretty conservative. They also leverage the “dreams and expectations” of a great future. This one, does exactly the opposite and, by doing so, really stands out.

The same marketing technique can be applied to online dating profiles. I don’t suggest taking a negative approach (the reason is that your audience’s mindset and the environment of online dating are different than the ones of monster.com). However, I do suggest being different. For instance, instead of listing the typical things you like to do,  describe how uniquely you do them. Here’s an example: if you read a number of online dating profiles, you’ll probably see a number of them that say “I like being outdoors”. That rather boring mention could be made much more interesting if you add “I like camping in places that have no slugs, bears or serial killers hanging around the outhouse”. That kind of personal touch makes it different from anyone else’s and that, in turn, makes it stand out.

For singles dating online, the best way to get noticed is to craft a dating profile that has a number of your own unique habits, quirks and traits.  Get your dating profile started now by completing the personality quiz. It costs nothing to do, but will help you uncover some of those unique aspects. From there, all you have to do is incorporate the most interesting ones into your dating profile.

Better yet, hire me to do it for you. As an ad writer I’m trained to make you  stand out against the competition. See for yourself. Check out the online dating samples of my work, as well as the LinkedIn profiles.
