Online dating romance. The wedding’s on!

As an ad writer and marketing expert, I’ve learned to write persuasively. I use the same  persuasive writing on online dating profiles (check out the samples of great online dating profiles and see for yourself).

In addition to ads and profiles, I write this blog – usually. Instead, this week we have a guest post by CB, a lady who – after years of online dating – found her perfect match.at 55! A few months ago CB gave us six guest posts detailing all the exciting and romantic moments from first email to first date to marriage proposal. She’s now contributing a few more posts to share with us the moments leading up to the big day. This is so exciting!

By the way, if you want help finding your perfect match, then hire me to write your online dating profile. One of the most important things in life is finding love and with my marketing expertise, I can put a positive and persuasive spin on how you present yourself. TWO WEDDINGS

Wedding one.   It’s set for one day after American Thanksgiving. A day when others are digesting turkey or shopping for Black Friday bargains.   Are we nuts?   Possibly. But I did have the seams of the dress “eased” in advance of the holiday feast.

While reflecting on a whirlwind few months.

Those of you who read the first blogs may be confused. Wasn’t the wedding supposed to be in the spring?   Well, rest assured, this 55-year old bride is not pregnant! And while we’re both anxious to be wed, that’s not the reason for the change.

It’s all about legalities and logistics. And the fact neither of us can resist a sad, wide-eyed face.   JGS is American, I am Canadian and the goal is to spend half a year in each other’s countries. After a lot of research, we discovered the best way to tackle the complicated immigration paperwork was to get married first in the U.S., then start the application process.   Let’s just go to Vegas, we thought. But it was costly.

Well, I was going to visit for Thanksgiving anyway– why not just do a quick legal ceremony secretly, and have the bigger wedding as planned in Canada in May anyway ?   Well, that was the plan in July.

I then suggested JGS put out some feelers on who was coming north in the spring, so I could do a rough guest estimate.

More to come…

Note from Kate

A wonderful story. Congratulations and best wishes to both of you. Thanks so much for sharing your online – and offline – love story.

For those of you looking for love online, here’s are some important facts about online dating: Many factors affect success.

Some are out of our control: who’s online when you are , the ratio of men and women in your area, how long you and/or others have been looking (our expectations change over time).

Others are within our control. These include our photos and our online dating profiles. But, you need to maximize them.

As a writer and marketing expert, I know how to increase your chances of online dating success by writing a dating profile that gets attention and keeps it.

The first step is to fill in my online personality quiz. Sounds like a gimmick, right? It’s not. It’s actually an ingenious tool designed to help me uncover your most interesting traits, anecdotes – even quirks. From there I pick the best ones then place them in key spots throughout your dating profile. Better still, because I’m using all your words and information, the profile ends up sounding exactly like you. So let’s take your inbox from empty to full of promise.

Start the quiz!

Still now sure? Then have a look at my dating profile samples and see for yourself.
