Booty calls, vampires and online dating.

The only dating blog about men, women and advertising.

I’ve heard of leg men, breast men and men who love booty. I’ve heard of women who’ll swoon over 6-pack abs and rock solid buns. Now, though, I’ve think I’ve heard it all. Apparently, there’s a new way to evaluate a potential lover and it’s by looking at their cell.

Some things go well together. Mystery books and rainy days. Politicians and sex scandals. Wine and 7 UP (don’t judge me!).  What also goes well together is advertising and online dating. After all, both are about competing, communicating and connecting. That why I’ve combined my training as an ad writer with a talent for writing dating profiles. That also explains why my blog is about relationships between everything from products and people, to men and women.

Online dating and booty calls.

According to a recent survey by match.comCanadian singles who use Android phones are more likely to have one-night stands than other smartphone users. Humm, brings new meaning to “open” source, eh? (Not to mention accessible.)

Hopeful romantic?

Another survey by match.com found that 33% of men studied and 43% of women have fallen in love with someone they didn’t initially find attractive.

Relationship advice to men

Askmen.com gives men a list of the “Top Ten Things Women Love to Hear” and explains why saying them makes a guy look good (after all, why make it about the woman, right?).  For instance, telling a woman that she’d make a great mother confirms that you want to have babies with her. As such, she’ll be “ever more receptive” to your advances. I searched the rest of the site for related content like “The Sociopaths Guide to Getting the Girl”.

Relationship advice for women

According to guyspeak.com, there are 20 compliments men want to hear, among them: “These are the greatest Sloppy Joes I have ever tasted in my life.”  It’s a fun read. I’ll be checking out that site again.

A LESSON ON COMMUNICATION BROUGHT TO YOU BY BLOOD SUCKING VAMPIRES.

For the most part car automobile advertising is generic. Usually you see a car driving with music playing. Cut and that’s a wrap. Often the spots are about as distinct as a dirt road. Sometimes though, a car ad  takes you by surprise as did this “Vampire” spot for Audi.

If you’re trying to write your online dating profile (or crafting your LinkedIn profile) here’s what you can learn from watching it: keep it simple. Even though the car has many features, Audi isn’t trying to get them all across. This is very important to remember when writing your own personal ad. Don’t promote every single qualification. Stick to key points instead.

Audi complemented its simple message with an equally uncomplicated story. I encourage you to do the same. Get across your message using anecdotes, but keep them concise so that deliver a strong punch that keeps the reader’s attention.

On a final note, I have fun writing my blogs and tweets. What I take seriously, though, is writing online dating profiles and LinkedIn profiles. Have a look at my samples of online dating profiles and LinkedIn profiles and see for yourself. With 20+ years as an ad writer and marketing expert, I’m trained to get you noticed.

Better still, why not get started by completing the online personality quiz. It’s the first step to a great online dating profile. The second step  is to hire me. By the way, if you like what you’ve read, then you’ll like my tweets and  Facebook page. Feel free to leave comments. It’s great to hear from you.
