Donald, dating, deception and hair.

I’m an ad writer. I’m also an online dating profile writer who uses subtle ad techniques (not hard sell) to help singles stand out.  This is my odd little dating blog.

I’ve seen enough episodes of CSI to know that when a rug is out of place, it’s hiding something – except with respect to Donald Trump. If anyone looked beneath that comb-over, they would find nothing –  and certainly nothing worth further investigation.

Yet this mentally bereft man is back in the news claiming that, when it comes to Obama’s citizenship, a promotional booklet is more legitimate than a birth certificate.

When George Will called him a “bloviating ignoramus”, Trump eloquently hurled back with “George Will may be the dumbest (and most overrated) political commentator of all time.” Ah Donald, you’re so rich. At least there’s that. In truth, Trump teaches us many lessons, shared here – in this week’s blog.

Letting go of an argument.

For someone with Trump’s level of critical thinking, wikipedia has a few simple suggestions on how to lose an argument gracefully.

For instance, “Say something that suggests you know you might be wrong” or “Concede the point”, or “Don’t belabor the issue”.

Hummm, come to think of it, that might be more difficult for Donald than I thought.

Background checks for dummies.

Should the Donald find himself dating again, here are a few tips on checking out your internet date. I don’t know how valid the information is, but it does make for an interesting read about deception and how to investigate it.

In addition, some of the information was culled from a smart dating blog, Little Red Rails, which is run by a man who I know to be truly legit. I bet he even has accurate promotional references. It just doesn’t get any more certain than that.

Narcissists and dating

No Donald-inspired blog would be complete without an article on how spot narcissists and avoid them, found here on yahoo (I know, I know…my sources are so credible).  Some highlights: narcissists like drama and never apologize. Just guessing, but I suspect plastering your name on massive buildings might be a clue too.

Best ever hair advertising

This link takes you to incredibly innovative hair ads. Rather than go the traditional route of TV and print, they use the environment to make their point. Look at the hair ads featured here and compare them to ones we usually see. These stand out whereas the others all seem the same.

This is a lesson to all those who craft their own dating profiles. Always find a positive way to promote yourself. However, do it in a way that doesn’t copy everyone else. Be unique (like these ads). It’s the only way to separate yourself from the crowd.

Better yet, hire me to write your online dating profile. It’s the surest way to get an online dating profile that’s unique, but customized to you (one of my strengths is creating a profile that sounds like you). I use subtle ad techniques (no hard sell) so that you stand out among the millions of others competing online.

Get started by completing thepersonality quiz. It costs nothing to do, but will help you uncover interesting anecdotes that you can add to your dating profile.

Still not sure? Then check out the online dating samples of my work, as well as the LinkedIn profiles. If you like the blogs, then you’ll like the tweets. I also encourage you to join me on Facebook.
