Some things are predictable. I once had to rent an apartment sight unseen. The landlady said “Don’t worry. It’s charming”. When I arrived I realized that her “charming” was my “teeny”. People use objectionable adjectives all the time. To get me to go swimming, my Mom used to say the lake water was “refreshing” rather than “so cold you’ll beg hell to take you early” . I was roller-blading the other day with a girlfriend of mine when a young hot gorgeous male in his 30’s skated by without a shirt on. She and I both nearly tripped over ourselves and yanked our necks out of place as we watched, fixated, while he sped off. I don’t care what anyone says but that moment was better than chocolate. Honest to god, nothing makes a person sound more geriatric than “young at heart”. Seriously, have you ever heard a young person say those words? No. No. No. Young people don’t say they’re young at heart any more than they’ll say they need more fiber. It just isn’t a young thing to say. I see so many profiles of men and women in and around 50 years old who claim to be “young at heart”, “not typical for my age” and other misguided anti-aging claims. Here’s a fact about boomers: this is a progressive demographic and always has been. Boomers brought in groundbreaking, sexually provocative, “devil’s” music or, what we call today, rock and roll. It’s too bad that online dating sites, which are a fairly new trend, are in the dark ages themselves. I’d love to see sites pop up that didn’t require you to post your age or, at the very least, kept ages hidden. Though age can be relevant if you want kids, what’s more important than posting your age, in that case, is posting whether or not you want children. It’s true that singles often have a cut off “ideal age” when they do searches dating sites. However, generally speaking, people tend to be curious about who’s out there and, if someone is attracted to your photo and profile, they’ll contact you. I’ve heard that men  search for younger women. I’m not convinced.
